Advanced Protein Analytics Center of Excellence (APACE)

Explore What We Do

APACE is a structural proteomics laboratory at University of Calgary focused on method development, software development, technological innovation and contract research with focus on rapid and affordable antibody epitope and paratope mapping.

Located at Cumming School of Medicine at Univeristy of Calgary

Deep understanding of the mechanisms of biology and disease comes from structural methods that provide atomic-level models of proteins. These models help explain how proteins function, but what if function can only be understood in the wider context of the living cell? Unfortunately, classical methods for structure determination do not scale well.

Integrating data from multiple sources could extend structural analysis to the cell. Our lab develops techniques to make this a reality, with a special focus on mass spectrometry and signal processing. Protein structures from classical sources and AI generation are enhanced with data from novel structural proteomics methods to explore complex biological processes.
